Lanzarote Dynamic Square
Arrecife
Competition · Honorary Mention
Together with Pau Cornellana, architect
Technical support: Fernando Benedicto, Gestió de Projectes SLP
The project seeks to highlight those elements that have been shaping the landscape and culture of Lanzarote throughout history: volcanic stone, concave shapes and tradition. The central space of the new square is lowered to generate a multifunctional, dynamic and accessible space. Its perimeter provides for shaded places for daily rest and meeting. Three colours define the square: the volcanic black, the green of the native vegetation and the white of the vernacular architecture.
