“One of the responses of cities to environmental, social, food, and economic emergencies is to rethink their connection with the territory where they are located. It is of great importance to reconnect with the geographical support and its ecosystem dynamics. It is necessary to establish new synergies between the city and its surroundings, between the figure and the background. This book presents possible responses to these challenges through the development of ideas to improve the relationship between the city of Igualada and the new Green Belt that surrounds it. The projects have been carried out in the course of Urban Design 6(M)-2023 at the Barcelona School of Architecture (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), with the collaboration of the Ajuntament d’Igualada city council”.
